1. What should my child wear for Portrait Day?

Excel Photographers recommends you choose solid colors or simple patterns that complement the portrait background. Medium to dark shades of clothing darken skin tones. Soft shades will lighten skin tones. Avoid T-shirts with words on them, the words may be cut in half on your portrait. Long-sleeve shirts look best. If wearing accessories, choose small items that don't detract from the face.

2. What grooming tips do you recommend to prepare for Portrait Day?

Plan a haircut one-two weeks ahead of Portrait Day. Hands may show in portrait. Take hair or makeup brushes to schools for quick touchups just before portrait time.

3. What if I forgot to order on picture day?

Call Excel at 916-565-1620. You may place your order over the phone and pay by credit card. Orders phoned in within 48 hours of the original picture day will have no extra charges. Subsequent phone orders will be charged an additional $5.00. You may also wait for the make up day.

4. What if I don't like my portrait?

Excel guarantees your satisfaction, and will retake your child's portrait or refund your money. Return your complete portrait package to the photographer on your school's Retake Day (minus the class picture, if included). Students will be notified of the Retake Day in school. You may also call Excel at 916 565-1620 and schedule a retake at our studio in North Natomas

5. What if I'd like to order more portraits?

Instructions for reordering portraits can be found on your portrait envelope.

6. What if my portrait package is incorrect?

If the package you received is incorrect, Excel Photographers will gladly remedy the situation. Please follow the instructions on the form you'll find in your portrait envelope.

7. When is my school's portrait Retake Day?

Your student will be notified about the Retake Day in school.

8. What is a Prepay Package?

Many portrait packages are "prepay" only. For a prepay package, make your selections from your Portrait Day flyer and return money to the photographer on Portrait Day. All students will be photographed for schools needs, but only those who prepay will receive portrait packages. Check your portrait envelope for payment deadlines, package options and other information.

9. What type of payments are accepted?

We do not except post-dated checks. Checks and money orders are gladly accepted. Cash is also OK but might be lost at school and there will be no record of payment. You may also phone Excel and pay over the phone with a credit card.

10. Can my other children be photographed?

Yes, If you would like to take advantage of the low prices at the school and have the backgrounds match and the package contents be the same for all your children. it is usually best to bring your child in at the start of school, but please be aware that students and staff at the school will take priority and there may be a short wait.

11. May I pay later?

For the best possible portrait you need to pay on or before picture day. Phone orders may be called into Excel after picture day. You may also pay on the make-up day.

12. What if my check bounces?

All returned checks & service fees may be electronically debited or bank drafted from your account. To verify/dispute/revoke call 1 800 460-0124

13. Can I order online?

Yes, please click on the picture day button on the home page and follow all instructions. Once done, please be sure to print out a copy of your order for your records, as well as a copy to hand into the photographer on picture day. All online orders should be placed before 8 am on picture day. Please note, no package contents can be substituted.
